About Foz do Iguassu

With a broad range of attractions, Foz do Iguaçu is one of the world's most appealing travel destinations. Its incomparable treasures include the National Park surrounding the Iguassu Falls, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Another major attraction is the Itaipu hydropower complex - the world's largest by output. The tour includes a trip through the Bela Vista bio-sanctuary and glimpses of local history at the Ecomuseu Museum, while also admiring the spotlit power plant.

In addition to the majestic falls, the Igassu National Park offers annotated nature trails and eco-adventure options that include rafting, rappelling, rock climbing, tree walks and boat trips right under the drops. For a birds-eye view of the falls, helicopters offer panoramic flights.

Close to the National Park is the Bird Sanctuary, which is home to a wide variety of species thriving in their natural habitats.

Another don't-miss outing is a drive to the Triple Frontier Landmark, where the boundaries between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet at the confluence of the Iguaçu and Paraná Rivers.

The town of Foz offers many attractions, particularly its religious architecture: the Cathedral Church, the Buddhist Temple and the Moslem Mosque. Other landmarks include two international bridges: the Bridge of Friendship between Brazil and Paraguay, and the Tancredo Neves bridge linking Brazil to Argentina.

The Itaipu dam offers countless enjoyable options, including ultralight trikes that take off from the nearby Weekend Fly field for flights over the dam, with amazing views over the entire area and all its many natural and man-made attractions.

In addition to all these options, Foz has a solid hotel infrastructure and a good transportation system, together with many bars and restaurants, complete with support services and venues for hosting a wide variety of events.

Located just 650 kilometers from Curitiba, the Paraná State capital and 1,200 km from São Paulo, flights land at the Foz do Iguaçu International Airport on runways 2,195 meters long that are sized to handle large aircraft. The flight time to São Paulo is 1h25m and 1h45m to Rio de Janeiro.

There is certainly no lack of choice for ensuring that your visit to Foz do Iguaçu is unforgettable. So come and explore this paradise!
